The Process

Framing: Openings for windows and doors are precisely framed during the construction phase. Proper dimensions and alignment ensure a snug fit for each unit. This step is executed by the builders framing crew.
Preparation: Before installation, the rough openings are inspected and prepared. This includes applying flashing tape and sealants to prevent water infiltration.
Home Wrap Integration: A high-quality home wrap, such as Tyvek Home Wrap, is applied to the exterior of the home. This weather-resistant barrier is a vital part of the building envelope, protecting against moisture while allowing vapor to escape. Proper integration of the home wrap around window and door openings ensures a tight seal and optimal performance.
Installation: Windows and doors are carefully positioned into the prepared openings, leveled, and secured. Fasteners and shims are used to ensure they are stable and properly aligned.
Sealing and Insulation: Once installed, gaps between the frame and the rough opening are filled with insulating foam or caulking to enhance energy efficiency and reduce air leakage.
Trim and Siding: Exterior trim is added, and siding materials (like those offered by Empire, including vinyl siding, James Hardie board, or Smart trims) are installed to complete the look and functionality.
